문화재 성남시 갈현동 일대 조선 전기 왕실 원찰…경기도 문화재 지정 추진
성남시는 중원구 갈현동 469-1번지 일원에서 발굴한 조선시대 전기(1392∼1506년) 왕실의 원찰에 대해 경기도 문화재 지정을 추진한다. 시는 주변 토지주가 발견·제보해 이뤄진 최근 2년간의 발굴조사에서 원찰 유적을 확인했다며 26일 이같이 밝혔다. 원찰은 조선 전기 왕실에서 죽은 사람의 명복을 빌기 위해 건립한 불교 사찰이다. 발굴 조사 결과 원찰은 5738㎡ 규모이며, 경사면에 석축으로 3단의 대지(垈地·집터로서의 땅)를 만들어 금당(金堂·절의 본당)을 비롯한 요사채(승려들이 거처하는 공간) 등의 여러 건물을 배치한 형태였다. 중정(中庭·뜰), 회랑(回廊·지붕 달린 복도), 박석(薄石·바닥에 얇게 깐 돌), 보도(步道·사람이 다니는 길) 등의 시설도 설치돼 있었다. 원찰의 동쪽과 회랑 주변에는 배수시설이 설치돼 있었고, 판석에 구멍을 뚫어 만든 집수구(도랑)는 경복궁·창덕궁 등의 궁궐과 양주 회암사지에서 확인된 사례와 유사했다. 원찰 서쪽 가장자리에서는 기와를 굽는 가마도 발견됐다. 원찰 터에선 유물도 출토됐다. 조선시대 전기에 왕실과 관련된 건물에서만 사용할 수 있던 ▲용머리 모양의 장식 기와인 취두(鷲頭)와 용두(龍頭) ▲마루 장식 기와인 잡상(雜

문화재 도난당했던 함양 벽송사 여래회도 돌아왔다
지난 2001년에 도난됐던 함양 벽송사 여래회도(如來會圖)가 20여년 만인 지난 25일 본래의 자리인 벽송사로 돌아왔다. 함양 벽송사 여래회도는 1897년(광무1)에 만들어진 후불도로 세로 172㎝, 가로 200㎝의 면포에 하단 연지에서 솟아오른 연화대좌에 결가부좌로 앉은 여래삼존과 제자 8위, 범·제석천, 사천왕 등을 가득차게 구성했다. 채색은 적색과 녹색 위주에 양청색을 가미해 단조로움을 피했다. 도상 구성이나 존상 묘사, 양청색의 사용 등에서 19세기 후반 여래회도의 전형을 보여주는 작품이다. 지난 2001년 10월 벽송사에서 도난당했던 여래회도는 그동안 행방이 묘연하다 2020년 1월경, 경매사에 불화를 출품해 처분하려다 범행이 발각된 피의자의 자택을 수색하는 과정에서 오랫동안 은닉해 온 불상과 불화 등 총 32점의 도난 불교문화유산을 찾아내면서 그 존재가 드러났다. 당시 문화재청의 문화재감정위원들은 은닉 사범으로부터 압수한 32점 전부에 대해 진위감정을 실시해 대한불교조계종 소속의 전국 14개 사찰들에서 서로 다른 시기들에 도난당한 문화유산임을 확인하고, 항온·항습 상태가 양호한 국립고궁박물관 수장고에 위탁·관리해 왔으며, 서울중앙지방검찰청이 압수문
