사회일반 광복을 맞이한지 78주년이 된 지금~!!
글 / 동신대 군사학과 임소희(육군장교후보생) 1945년 8월 15일 일제로부터 해방되어 주권을 되찾아 영예롭게 회복한(光復) 날(節)이란 뜻을 가진 광복절 78주년이 된 오늘, 우리는 광복절을 맞이하여 우리나라의 소중함을 또 한 번 깨우칠 수 있게 되었다. 오래전 나는 국경일을 맞이하던 날 태극기를 게양하는 집이 점점 사라지고 있다는 기사를 본 적이 있다. 많은 이들이 휴일로만 생각할 뿐 정확한 의미와 역사를 제대로 알지 못하고 있기 때문이다. 하지만, 우리는 대한민국 국민으로서 그날의 의미와 역사, 나라의 소중함을 제대로 알고 한 몸 바쳐 희생한 이들의 넋을 길러야 한다고 생각했다. 대한민국의 5대 국경일 중 하나인 광복절. 광복절은 일제로부터 독립한 해방의 날과 임시정부 법통을 계승한 대한민국 정부 수립한 날이라는 두 가지 의미를 담고 있다. 우리는 1910년부터 1945년까지 35년간 나라를 잃고 주권과 기본권을 강탈당한 채 살아온 일제강점기 시절을 겪었다. 이렇게 고난을 겪었지만 우리는 나라를 직접 되찾고자 하는 마음으로 태극기를 들고 만세를 외쳤고 그 결과 1945년 8월 15일 마침내 일제로부터 해방을 맞이하게 되면서 대한민국을 되찾을 수 있었다
