The Egyptian Embassy in South Korea hosted an event at the Army Club in Yongsan-gu, Seoul to commemorate the Egyptian National Day.

 

 

On this occasion, various ambassadors and journalists from different countries, including Park Yong-min, the Deputy Minister for Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the event to extend their congratulations.

 

Egyptian Ambassador to South Korea, Khaled Abdel Rahman, expressed his honor to celebrate the Egyptian National Day with distinguished guests.

 

The following is the congratulatory message from the Egyptian Ambassador:

 

"Mr. Park Yong-min, Deputy Minister for Multilateral Diplomacy of the Republic of Korea,

 

Distinguished diplomats and esteemed guests from Egypt and Korea,

 

It is a great honor to celebrate Egyptian National Day here in Korea with dear guests.

 

 

On behalf of the Egyptian government, I extend warm greetings and gratitude to all of you who have joined us on this special occasion to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the revolution on July 23.

 

We appreciate our rich cultural heritage and achievements, and we recognize the importance of international cooperation in building a strong and stable regional community. Our two countries have a long history of cooperation and friendship, demonstrating shared dedication to economic growth, trade, and innovation.

 

Over the past few years, we have been making efforts to strengthen partnerships in various fields, including education, science, and technology. We are committed to expanding cooperation, broadening perspectives, and pursuing mutual benefits. Through joint ventures, investments, and knowledge exchange, we are creating opportunities for our citizens by leveraging each other's strengths.

 

 

Our shared vision for a prosperous future is based on steadfast dedication to mutual cooperation and utilizing each other's resources.

 

I would like to mention the economic and developmental relations between Egypt and Korea. In recent years, we have witnessed an unprecedented level of cooperation in the fields of development and execution of infrastructure projects.

 

In addition to cooperation in the transportation sector, our two countries actively collaborate in other areas, including defense, such as the joint production of K9 self-propelled howitzers and the construction of two MPC14K multi-purpose ships in the naval sector.

 

Korea is also cooperating with Egypt through the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) in constructing Egypt's first El Dabaa nuclear power plant. Based on this cooperation, KHNP will build facilities for the plant and supply raw materials.

 

According to a report released by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) office in Cairo earlier this year, Korean exports to Egypt reached a record high of 1.69 billion dollars in 2022, an increase of 161% from the previous year.

 

In conclusion, on this special day, we extend our respect to the resilience and perseverance of our nations and express our profound gratitude for the unwavering partnership with Korea. We are firmly committed to nurturing this friendship through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation between our countries.
