법왕청신문 이존영 기자 | 광주시 남한산성면 산성리에 소재한 대한불교 조계종 국청사는 지난 21일 민족 최대 명절인 추석을 맞아 소외되고 어려운 이웃들을 위해 백미 200포(4㎏‧280만원 상당)를 광주시에 기탁했다. 국청사 서호 주지스님은 “어려운 사회·경제적 분위기에 힘든 시기를 보내고 있는 이웃들에게 나눔을 통해 작은 위로와 힘을 드리고자 기탁하게 됐다”며 “어려운 이웃들이 따뜻한 추석을 맞이했으면 좋겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다. 이에 대해 방세환 시장은 “매년 기부를 통해 더불어 사는 분위기 조성으로 나눔을 실천해주시는 국청사에 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “기부된 쌀은 관내 취약계층 가구에 골고루 전달하겠다”고 전했다. 한편, 국청사는 5월부터 백미 4천400㎏을 지역사회 내 어려움을 겪는 지역주민들을 위해 꾸준히 기탁하며 나눔과 봉사를 실천하고 있다.
